HARFORD COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Jim Owens, Whiting-Turner, Senior Vice President, Joins Harford Family House Board

Harford County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Oct. 10.

Harford Family House, one of the only organizations of its kind in Harford County providing services to entire families experiencing homelessness, is proud to announce the election of Jim Owens to its board of directors.

Owens holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Delaware and a Masters in Science in Business Administration from Loyola University. A Certified Aging Services professional, Owens joins Harford Family House with 36 years of construction experience at Whiting-Turner, where he now serves as a Senior Vice President.

“Jim’s experience in the senior living, residential and mixed-use markets adds a valuable skillset to the Harford Family House Board as we continue to grow and provide housing for the homeless in our community,” says CEO of Harford Family House, Robin Tomechko. “We are excited to have him join our team and are looking forward to leaning on his expertise.”

Owens has helped lead over $2 billion dollars of construction projects, including several independent living facilities in Baltimore, such as New Independent Living, Roland Park Place, Westminster House, as well as, multi-family buildings such as, New Shiloh Village Apartments, Bon Secours Health System and Ingleside at Rock Creek, Washington, DC.
