Graduates earn 1,064 degrees, certificates from Bowie State University


About 19.1 percent of the 1,064 degrees and certificates handed out by Bowie State University in 2017-18 were to students in business, management, marketing, and related support services programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Bowie conferred 113 bachelor's degrees and 81 master's degrees in business, management, marketing, and related support services programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in general business administration and management. Data shows the school gave out 113 bachelor's degrees in general business administration and management, followed by 107 bachelor's degrees in radio and television broadcasting technology/technician and 82 bachelor's degrees in criminal justice/safety studies.

The university enrolled 6,148 students for 2017-18, including 5,187 in undergraduate programs and 961 in graduate programs.
