Graduates earn 2,880 degrees, certificates from Montgomery College


About 40.9 percent of the 2,880 degrees and certificates handed out by Montgomery College in 2017-18 were to students in liberal arts and sciences, general studies and humanities programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Rockville conferred 1171 associate's degrees and 8 certificates in liberal arts and sciences, general studies and humanities programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in general studies, liberal arts and sciences, and other humanities. Data shows the school gave out 924 associate's degrees in general studies, liberal arts and sciences, and other humanities, followed by 449 associate's degrees in general business/commerce and 247 associate's degrees in liberal arts and sciences/liberal studies.

The college enrolled 22,875 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
