City of Gaithersburg issued the following announcement on June 10.
As part of the Gaithersburg Summer Movie Series, the Arts Barn presents a special anniversary screening of “The Blair Witch Project” on Wednesday, July 17, 2019. Doors and concessions open at 6 p.m. A pre-show talkback featuring co-director Eduardo Sánchez and film critic Arch Campbell takes place at 7 p.m. followed by the film screening at 7:30. The Arts Barn is located at 311 Kent Square Road. Admission is $15, $18 at the door. This film is rated R. Those under 17 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian. A cash bar will be available for those 21 and older. Photo ID required for alcohol sales.
Celebrate the 20th anniversary of this cult classic film about three film students who vanish after traveling into a Maryland forest to film a documentary on the local Blair Witch legend, leaving only their footage behind. The Washington Post described it as "the scariest movie. Not the goriest, the grossest, the weirdest, the eeriest, the sickest, the creepiest or the slimiest. Just flat out the scariest."
Enjoy family-friendly movies in Gaithersburg all summer long. Screenings take place indoors and outdoors at Casey Community Center, the Arts Barn, Kentlands Mansion, Observatory Park, and Robertson Park Youth Center. Explore them all here.
