3.5 percent of University of Maryland-Baltimore County students played sports on university teams in 2016-2017


In 2016-2017, 3.5 percentage of University of Maryland-Baltimore County students participated in collegiate sports, according to data made available by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).

University of Maryland-Baltimore County has 11,234 undergraduate students, of which 55 percent are men and 45 percent are women, and a total student body of 13,662 students. Of these students, 263 men and 216 women represented the school by participating in one or more of the sports with teams at the school.

This total does not include students playing intramural sports.

According to NCES, 4.3 percent of students enrolled at institutions of higher education with sports teams were on teams.

The sports at University of Maryland-Baltimore County with the most participants are all track combined (187), lacrosse (79) and swimming and diving (61).
