About 19.8 percent of the 1,071 degrees and certificates handed out by the Bowie State University in 2016-17 were to students in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Bowie conferred 106 bachelor's degrees and 91 master's degrees in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management, General. Data shows the school gave out 106 bachelor's degrees in Business Administration and Management, General, followed by 100 bachelor's degrees in Radio and Television Broadcasting Technology/Technician and 73 bachelor's degrees in Psychology, General.

The university enrolled 5,669 students for 2016-17, including 4,711 in undergraduate programs and 958 in graduate programs.
